What is Biotin?
BIOTIN is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action (MSCA)-cofunded program that aims to provide 10 doctoral candidates (DCs) with a unique blend of research training in the convergence of life sciences, engineering, and entrepreneurship, with the goal of advancing innovation in the biomedical and bioengineering fields.
Successful candidates will be enrolled in a doctoral program offered by one of the three implementing partners, with the aim of obtaining a doctoral degree. The BIOTIN program offers a unique educational experience, immersing DCs in courses and training on entrepreneurship at the early stages of their curriculum, as well as on data science, computing, biomedical sciences, and engineering. In addition to theoretical courses and training, each recruited DC fellow is required to complete a PhD thesis. The BIOTIN program offers 20 PhD thesis projects in the fields of Drug Development, Diagnostics, and Tissue Engineering & Artificial Organs, from which the DCs can choose at the time of application.
Implementing Partners
BIOTIN is coordinated by the Izmir Institute of Technology (IZTECH) in collaboration with two partner organizations: Boğaziçi University (BOUN) and the Izmir Biomedicine and Genome Center (IBG). IZTECH, IBG, and BOUN are located in two major cities of Türkiye: İzmir and İstanbul.
